School of Missions (SoM) – YWAM Grimerud Norway

YWAM Grimerud in Norway is running the School of Missions from 10 September 2018 – 31 March 2019.

The School of Missions desires to see all people groups reached with the gospel. The heart of this school is to fully equip field workers to be prepared for long-term missions throughout the nations of the earth.

The focus of this school is knowing God’s heart for nations and cultures, taking care of the poor, the widowed and fatherless and bringing the kingdom of heaven to cities through urban ministries.

Bible for Life – YWAM Dharamshala, India

The Bible for Life course is being run by YWAM Dharamshala in India from 3 June – 15 August 2018

During the course students explore the Bible’s Story, learn reliable and hands-on methods for reading the biblical text with greater understanding, practice Bible meditation and share the gospel. The whole Bible will be read and books of each main literary genre will be studied in-depth: Torah, historical books, wisdom, prophets, gospels, acts, letters & Revelation.

Emphasis will be put on learning and growing together, through group assignments, discussion and mentor groups. The student can expect to receive input from experienced teachers.

In short: discover God’s Story and be equipped to know, live, and share the Bible.

Foundations for Counseling Ministry (FCM) – JUCUM Pichilemu, Chile

JUCUM Pichilemu in Chile is running the Foundations for Counseling Ministry course

The Foundations in Counseling Ministries course (FCM) aims to introduce students to the concept of biblical counseling and equip them with practical tools to bring healing and restoration to others. The school also focuses on providing an environment where students receive the healing they need in their own lives so they can live in victory and be more effective in ministry.

The FCM places a high level of importance on providing counsel from a biblical point of view – the power of the gospel to bring healing to brokenness.

Course topics include the divine plumbline, deliverance, interpersonal relationships, moral purity, the family, and more.

School of Social Justice (SSJ) – YWAM Denver, USA

From the 25th of June – 7th September YWAM Denver will be running the School of Social Justice.

This course will help students understand the historical and cultural backgrounds of injustice issues, develop a biblical worldview of God’s plan for humankind, understand the mandate to steward that design, and discover means of confronting injustice. They will be given practical tools for serving as well as spiritual preparation.

Foundations for Family Studies (FFS) – YWAM Worcester, South Africa

The Foundations for Family Studies Course will be running at YWAM Worcester, South Africa from June 29 – December 8, 2018.

The course introduces students to the Christian Biblical foundational concepts of family life, presents a model for the study and understanding the dynamics of family life, and introduces basic tools for helping relate to families. The three-month lecture phase presents a template with the curriculum broken down into nine major categories, with minimum of one week of a school devoted to each of these categories. The nine categories are:

  • Biblical worldview of family
  • a biblical family model,
  • Family of Origin model
  • marriage relationship
  • parenting
  • basic 1-2 hour seminar skills
  • Family Life
  • Skills for helping families
  • family ministering together

School of Islamic Studies (SIS) – YWAM Redding, USA

YWAM Redding in California, USA is running the School of Islamic Studies from 2 July – 21 September, 2018.

The School of Islamic Studies (SIS) is designed both through lectures and practical relationships to further the student’s love, commitment, and understanding of Muslim peoples in their own cultural context. The school emphasizes that Christians must understand, love, and share their faith with Muslims in an attitude of humility, respect and reconciliation.

Principles in Child and Youth Ministries (PCYM) – YWAM Southlands Tasmania, Australia

From the 10th of July to the 21st of December, YWAM Southlands Tasmania here in Australia will be running the Principles in Child and Youth Ministries course.

The course is designed to provide students with biblical models for human growth and development, preparing them to work with children and youth. A major emphasis of the course is on character development, and a practical understanding of the Christian faith applied to all areas of life.

The PCYM equips students to motivate children and teens in worship and service to others, how to teach other children and teenagers, and how to partner with local churches to facilitate year-round programmes for children and youth.
