YWAM Athi River Building Project
- People are currently accommodated in temporary wood cabins. As the ministry has grown they have put together a master plan for the property and have started to build permanent housing.
- They have already completed some of the permanent buildings, but there is still much more to do, and they need to see people come to help to see if happen, and the finances come in for the needed materials.

YWAM Medellin
- YWAM Medellin has finally established a permanent home for some of the children that they are caring for. In May they finished renovating a permanent home for the girls that they are caring for and they are now looking towards constructing a second level on that property to house the boys, who are currently in temporary rented accommodation.

- YWAM El Salvador is engaging in outreach to help with reducing the Gang Violence that is ravaging the nation. The average homicides rate in El Savador is now up to 14 each day. YWAM is developing programs in some of the worst areas of gang violence. The programs are designed to outreach to the youth who are most likely to enter a life if crime.
- YWAM El Savador is currently looking for more people who want to engage in ministry in the nation of El Salvador. In addition to the outreach in the areas heavily affected by gang violence YWAM El Salvador is also working in the areas of:

  - Mercy Ministries with feeding the homeless, literacy programs and volunteering in orphanages
  - Evangelism through street dramas, soccer programs, children’s programs, hosting short term teams and partnering with local churches.

Principles In Child and Youth Ministry (PCYM) School
- YWAM Thailand will be running a Principles in Child and Youth Ministry school, PCYM, from November 8 – January 31 in Bangkok, Thailand. The lecture phase of the school will be followed up with an Outreach from February – March 2010.
- The main purpose of the PCYM is Mobilise, equip and train young people and families for ministry to children, youth and families.

Port au Prince – Haiti
- YWAM Port au Prince was donated 30-acres by the mayor of Port au Prince. YWAM will be able to build a permanent centre there where they will be able to continue hosting YWAM and church teams, as well as individual volunteers.

- The YWAM Ship Pacific Link just arrived in Gladstone after spending a week in Brisbane, Australia. As with the other ports on their Eastern Australia tour they will be aiming at recruiting health professionals and volunteers for the tour of Papua New Guinea later this year.

- YWAM Targu Mures acquired a new YWAM Centre in Central Romania earlier this year.
- YWAM Targu Mures is located in the heart of Transylvania in central Romania. They currently run a discipleship training school, a school of worship and a Call to Worship seminar. They also actively work at partnering with local churches and working with the people of the community around them. The centre also operates a coffee house called Open Caffe, which regularly hosts musical acts from Romania and around the world.

YWAM Russia Welcome and Go Centre in Moscow
- Moscow will soon be home to the new YWAM Russia Welcome and Go Centre
- The plan for the centre is to purchase an apartment in Moscow that will serve as a hospitality centre for people who have come to serve in Moscow and Russia. Their desire is to open the door for more people from around the world to serve the nation of Russia and the city of Moscow.

Singapore hosts the 2010 Youth Olympics

Singapore will be hosting the upcoming International Youth Olympic Games. This is the first time for these games to be hosted and they are expecting about 3,600 athletes from 205 nations between 14 and 18 years old. There are also expected to be nearly 525,000 other visitors to the games during the two-week long event.
YWAM Singapore will be hosting Gofest Asia 2010 to correspond with these inaugural games. The Gofest will run from the 10th to the 13th of August, with the outreach happening all through the games from the 14th to the 26 of August.

YWAM Ship Tour in Australia
- The YWAM Australia Medical Ship, the Pacific Link, was in Ballina, New South Wales last week. Over 1200 people came on board for tours.
- While the ship was in Ballina 1600 spectacles were donated to be distributed in Papua New Guinea to help the estimated 500,000 people in PNG who could have their eye sight restored through corrective lenses.
- The ship is now in the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia where they will be for about a week.

YWAM Continues to rebuild houses in Chile
- YWAM in Chile is working on building four new houses in a small town called Espinillo, which is a small town of about 40 people outside of Pichilemu. The houses are being built to replace homes that were destroyed by the earthquake.
- About 400 more homes were destroyed in the area around Pichilemu. This means that there are at least 400 families without a home with the cold and rainy winter season approaching.
- Prayer requests from the people there are for:
  - Building materials and money for the materials needed
  - Unity between the various leaders of relief projects

- The rainy season has now come to Haiti, causing havoc among the volunteer tent city and many of the tent cities that the Haitian people are living in. Over 10,000 people have had to be relocated out of low lying tent cities to higher ground, and it hasn’t been easy for them.
- There is still a huge need for adequate shelters for the survivors of the earthquake.

GENESIS One Voice
- The Next YWAM GENESIS One-Voice worship will be on June 4.
- One Voice is a time for YWAM Centres from around the world to get together to share a time of worship and prayer together. They do this using video conferencing technology and regularly include over a dozen locations from around the globe. They also stream the video live on the Internet.

- SCAM – School of Cartooning and Animation for Missions will be running from 5 July – 17 December 2010 in Chiang Mai, Thailand.

Non-Profit Architecture Firm 100 Fold Studio Partners with YWAM Montana
- A non-profit architectural firm called 100 Fold Studio is moving onto the YWAM Montana campus with a plan to partner with YWAM in many different projects around the world.
- Some of the projects that they are working on are:
  - Prototype soccer fields and health clinics in Togoville, Africa
  - Pre-fabricated orphanages and community building in Haiti and the Dominican Republic
  - The YWAM Montana campus master plan

YWAM 50th Celebration in Mongolia
- From April 17 – 19 Loren and Darlene Cunningham visited Mongolia to celebrate YWAM’s 50th anniversary. They had a very special time together that included a celebration of Mongolian culture and plenty of time for discussion and prayer.
- The first YWAM base was started in Erdenet, Mongolia in 1998. Today there are now five YWAM Bases and over 80 YWAM staff. The offer the DTS, school of the Bible, Crossroads DTS, Frontier Missions, church planting, mercy ministries, kindergarten programs and sending missionaries abroad.

YWAM Ship Pacific Link Stops in Eden, Australia
- The ship’s crew continues to collect glasses to help the 550,000 people in Papua New Guinea who could have their sight restored by receiving corrective lenses.
- The average life expectancy in remote areas of Papua New Guinea is only 46, and even simple things like a $3 maternity kit can help to decrease the fatality rate of mother’s and babies during birth.

April 19 – 23 there was a gathering of YWAMers from around North America in Altanta Georgia to look at how to be more affective working in the cities of America.
Two of the speakers included Dr. Patricia Bailey-Jones, an author, lecturere and the founder of Master’s Touch Ministries and Tim Svoboda, the International Urban Missions director for Youth With A Mission and the city coordinator for YWAM San Francisco.

YWAM Olympic Outreach for London 2012

The vision for the YWAM Outreach is to see 25 new teams planted in London, and at least 1 new team in each of the other Olympic cities. The focus of the teams will be on evangelism and urban mission, using new ways and fresh ideas to minister to the local community.
The aim will be to continue in partnership with local church so that people can be connected with a local church for discipleship and follow up.

Update on the YWAM Worship Album
- They had over 140 songs submitted and have narrowed it down to 12. The musicians for the album are still being finalised, but right now they are specifically looking for a drummer.

- Dominican Republic sits right next to Haiti and some of the first external YWAM teams traveled into Haiti from the Dominican Republic

Haiti

- In at least one of the tent camps some of the women are starting a business making baby slings. This simple act is helping to give the women a new sense of purpose and pride.

- In a partnership with Kids Against Hunger YWAM in Minneapolis is putting together 100,000 packaged meals to Haiti. Their long term goal is to deliver half a million meals and up till now they have sent off more than 36,000 meals.
- Because YWAM is staffed by all volunteers the project is running very lean and they are able to make each meal for only 23 cents each. All the money for this project comes from donations.
- The US Navy and Coast Guard are delivering the meals at no cost for YWAM or for Kids Against Hunger.

YWAM Chile
- The 8.8 magnitude earthquake that hit Chile last month left about 1.5 million people homeless in Chile. There are still many people there in desperate need of critical medical care.
- Mercy Works, a ministry of Youth With A Mission, plans to send a medical team to Chile from April 1 – April 11. While there the team can expect to be kept very busy helping to care for the sick and injured in Chile.

- YWAM (JOCUM) Pichilemu is launching a Home for Hope rebuilding project. The aim of the project is to help the communities surrounding Pichilemu which were hit especially hard by the earthquake. Most of the homes in the area were not built to withstand earthquakes and many of them crumbled in the initial quake, or the many aftershocks.
- The first phase of the project will be to build 50 free prefabricated homes for families left homeless.

European Arts Gathering in Norway
- YWAM in Norway has organised a Christian Arts gathering in Ålesund, Norway from the 7th to the 10th of October 2010.
