Stories:
YWAM Bahamas Hurricane Response
On September 1 Hurricane Dorian made landfall in the Bahamas causing wide spread destruction and death.
The YWAM Ship MV Pacific Hope arrived in the Northern Bahamas on September 8 and was the first Hospital ship to arrive after the hurricane. They have doctors specifically trained in disaster relief, EMTs, and nurses. They have been busy with dispersing Medical teams, organising distribution of supplies around the island, and distributing fresh water to those hit the hardest.
The more than 40 volunteers and crew began to cook and distribute hot food, water, and supplies to hundreds of people throughout the island with four wheel drive vehicles. On Grand Bahama, they have set up a warehouse and distribution center in High Rock which is unable to be accessed without a 4-wheeled vehicle.
Right before the storm hit all the medical staff evacuated off the island. The M/V Pacific Hope’s crew repaired a house to use as a make shift medical clinic and has provided a medical team to provide medical care for the island.
Transport to the Bahamas right now is extremely limited so the best way that you could currently help is by donating through the M/V Pacific Hope Dorian Relief GoFundMe Page.
The most up to date information for YWAM’s work in the Bahamas can be found on their Facebook page.

Buzz Off response to Flood Emergency in Mon State, Myanmar
In neighbouring Myanmar they are also experiencing a flood emergency in Mon State.
Over 100,000 people have been displaced from their homes, and with the water there has been an increase in mosquito breeding, and spikes in malaria infections and deaths.
The “Buzz Off” team from Australian Mercy, a ministry of Youth With A Mission, have travelled to the area to distribute mosquito nets, Rapid Diagnostic Testing kits, and approved malaria medicines. They have also been working to give instruction on the dangers of mosquitoes and how to reduce their numbers.
The team had to be assisted by local government authorities to get into some of the remote villages that were badly affected by the floods. Many hundreds of families have been helped by the Buzz Off team, who had to travel by road and boat tom reach some of the outlying areas.
You can find out more about the Buzz Off ministry, and donate to help provide the medication and mozzie nets on the Australian Mercy web-site, australianmercy.org.

In the book Loren Cunningham, founder of Youth With A Mission, speaks about his passions and goal to make the Word of God available to every person on earth. It builds upon the Christian Magna Cart which states that everyone on earth has the right to:
- Hear and understand the gospel of Jesus Christ.
- Have a Bible available in their own language.
- Have a Christian fellowship available nearby, to be able to meet for fellowship regularly each week, and to have biblical teaching and worship with others in the body of Christ.
- Have a Christian education available for their children.
- Have the basic necessities of life: food, water, clothing, shelter, and health care.
- Lead a productive life of fulfilment spiritually, mentally, socially, emotionally, and physically.
