Stories:

YWAM Together – Darlene Cunningham

We will start this week with another story from YWAM Together, this time by Darlene Cunningham.

YWAM Ships Switzerland Arrives in Madagascar

Three years ago YWAM Ships Switzerland purchased The Island Reach, an ex navy tender, and began the renovations of the ship. On September 29 the ship refit was complete and they set sail from Conwy, Wales, bound for Antsiranana, Madagascar.

I received an update from YWAM Ships Switzerland about the arrival, and it included this statement.

Our trust and faith in the Lord has grown immeasurably during the transit. Time after time we saw God in the large and in the small details. While in Malta for example we met the son of the first ever captain of our little ship when she was commissioned by the British navy. We welcomed him on board and called his dad to tell him the news of her future mission. During the sail we gave thanks for the news that Island Reach would receive an exemption from import taxes in Madagascar from the government, and of their intention to work with us towards reaching the nation. Stories of missiles and pirates would take far too long to tell, but grab the ear of one of the crew and put up your feet for the afternoon – the sharing is rich and Gods grace evident.

With much joy and celebration Island Reach arrived safely on December 2nd and after a period of transition was handed over to her new crew. The re-flagging and registering of the vessel are underway as well as the planning for her first mission after the hurricane season.

Thank you everyone, for each and every part you played in this project. Words alone cannot capture and communicate the gratitude, the wonder and the joy of being able to deliver Island Reach for CHRISTMAS.

YWAM Lyon Outreach

YWAM Lyon has again this year started engaging in evangelism around Lyon. They had a great afternoon at Place Bellecourwith about a dozen of them, set out in small groups of two, equipped with the Gospels and the New Testaments, to go meet people. They had some great conversations and they prayed for God to guide them to the right people, those who are seeking and open to dialogue, and He answered, with the groups having many great meetings.

They had some amazing contacts during the evangelism, especially with young people: some vaguely believers, some agnostic, and even with young Muslims. They had an opportunity to share the gospel, give some truly inspiring words of knowledge that touched hearts, prayed for most of them, and offer the New Testaments. (source)

The team from YWAM Lyon is regularly engaging in their community, and welcomes teams coming to join them. You can visit ywamlyon.com to find out more.

YWAM Davos WEF Outreach

YWAM Davos has been working with Stephan Maag doing outreaches to the WEF for over 10 years, with a desire to be “Salt and Light” to the attendees.

The idea of a “Salt&Light” during the Davos Meetings – WEF 2025, which took place from January 20 to 24, was to offer an exciting opportunity to bring Christian values and principles closer to a broad public in an inspiring and practical way. The aim was to bring the WEF audience and local people into contact with Christian messages through discussions, worship & prayer and street events.

Find out more about Salt and Light, and see all the teaching and worship from their time, over at salt-and-light.ch/en.

The water tank being repaired was built by a YWAM youth camp many years ago, and is the first water tank to be repaired after being damaged in the Earthquake. They are doing what they can to repair and provide some help for the community. With over 50 tanks needing a new life, it’s a race against time to repair as many as possible before dry season.

Ywam San Salvador Homes of Hope

This week YWAM San Salvador in El Salvador delivered one more Home of Hope, to one more family, a worthy home that comes to give a push and transform the lives of a mother and her two children.

The security of having a roof to protect them from the sun, to not get wet when the rain comes, and a place of shelter when storms come in. A home with which they can be encouraged to dream even more with God and walk in transformation and restoration.

David’s Tent Continued Prayer

With a new administration coming into power in the United States, David’s Tent continues their prayers, and released this statement regarding the change.

Yesterday, many were celebrating, others were grieving, as a new administration came to power. At David’s Tent, we transitioned our prayers “for kings and those in high position” from one administration to the next. Beyond that, we didn’t make a huge deal about the inauguration at the tent itself. The tent and all our platforms are meant to be consecrated space for vertical worship to Jesus. This isn’t meant to be dishonoring or unappreciative of those walking out their calling in the government sphere. It all comes back to Jesus for this particular intercessory ministry. When we are on watch, we purposely fix our eyes of worship directly on Jesus. It’s all about His Presence that we are seeking. We seek to minister directly to Him, giving hospitality to the Holy Spirit. This position has come with the faith that we will see God moving in the leadership of our nation if we hold steadfast to the posture that Jesus is THE KING and we seek first His Kingdom and His rule and reign. “No king but King Jesus!” Our hope is built on nothing less than Jesus Blood and Righteousness. So we praise Jesus another day. We let not our guards down, but keep praying with persistence, appealing to Jesus for the Salvation of our country, so we can give Him thanks and praise. (1 Chron 16:35). We want more breakthrough than anyone could imagine. May America worship Jesus, the worthy One.

Gleanings for the Hungry Donations to Peru

Earlier this month Gleanings for the Hungry donated 10 tons of soup mix to YWAM Ica Peru.

Already the soup mix is being delivered to many of the needy people in Peru. The first outreach with soup-mix went to an area in Pisco, an hour northwest of the YWAM location. 30 families suffered over the holidays to burned out wooden homes. A devastated area due to electrical fire during a time when they were meant to be celebrating as families. Bringing this community meals was well received, and opened doors for prayer and support to be given.

Check out the YWAM Ica Peru Facebook page to see the positive impact that they are having in the area.
