YWAM Balut Response to Barangay 105 Fire
A massive fire in Barangay 105, Happyland, Tondo, Manila, in the Philippines, on Saturday, September 13, 2025, displaced approximately 2,184 families. This is the second fire in the area, with 4500 people, or 1500 families, displaced by a fire in Tondo in August.

YWAM Balut has been reaching out to the victims of both of these fires, and providing relief aid, and sharing the hope that comes through Christ.

To find out how they are reaching out, and the progress of their relief work, you can visit their Facebook Page, or their web-site at ywambalut.com.
YWAM Marromeu
We last spoke about YWAM Marromeu in Mozambique back in April of 2023 on episode 132 of the YWAM News Show. At the time they were working with the local community still recovering from Cyclone Freddy. I thought now would be a good time to revisit them, and see what they are up to now …
YWAM Marromeu is currently looking at adding a high school to their already existing primary school. To do that they are looking to add 6 more classrooms, more bathrooms, a laboratory, soccer field, and basketball court. In addition to the construction, they are also needing to complete the administrative block, and equip all the new rooms with resources and eqipment.

You can head over to ywamjocummarromeu.org to find out more about their ministry, and the school building project.
YWAM Saint Marc, Haiti School Graduation
This month YWAM Saint Marc’s Liberty Academy Professional School graduated their 2025 students. This is the update from their event:

It was an amazing night celebrating our students and teachers. We had live music, a meal prepared by our culinary arts graduates, a dance choreographed by Tiff, Mendjina and Fafane and beautiful decorations put together by our staff and many students who came to help.
Shoutout to Tiffany and Mendjina who led the decorating team. It was a ton of work, but was so beautiful and worth it when it all came together.

The Liberty Academy provides training opportunities for hundred’s of Hattians every year in various trades. This year they had 550 students enrolled in 16 different classes. They are continuing to grow their school, and are looking forward to even more students going through the academy next year.

YWAM Mzuzu, Malawi
After spending many years in Central and Southern Malawi a team from YWAM felt the call to move into Northern Malawi to pioneer a new ministry centre:

YWAM Lusaka Hosting Japanese Team
This month YWAM Lusaka in the Philippines had the privilege of hosting a mission team from Japan at their location. For two days they ran a program with the kids that included a feeding program, outreach, games, and times of teaching and sharing the gospel.

YWAM Lusaka is grateful for opportunities like this where visiting teams can serve alongside them and bring the love of Jesus to their community. After the team from Japan’s time in Lusaka, they continued their journey to South Africa to carry on with their ministry there.
One of the things that YWAM Lusaka does at their location is to provide a place for local and international teams to serve through community outreach, children’s programs, discipleship, and sharing God’s Word. They find it a realjoy to see lives touched through these partnerships.
If you’d like to know more about what they do or how you or your team can partner with them, visit www.lusaka.ywam.co or reach out to them through their Facebook Page.
Oral Mother Tongue is Changing Bible Translation
Revelation 7:9 gives us a picture of God’s grand plan – that every language would be represented around the throne of Jesus Christ. But, 98% of the world’s languages do not have the full Word of God in their heart language.
Oral Mother Tongue, or OMT, is an initiative to overcome that challenge and translate the full Bible into every language and ignite discipleship movements in every tribe, nation, and peoples …
The full video can be found in the show notes, including a case study of how they are doing it right now in Nepal.
You can head over to everylanguage.com to find out more details about how they do it and how you can get equipped to help reach the over 3 billion people that do not yet have a Bible in their language.
Marine Reach Mexican Coast and Amazon Outreach
This month more than 1,000 children received corrective lenses during Marine Reach Global’s Mexican coast outreach. Having corrective lenses opens new paths for learning and growth for those who received the lenses.

Helping the blind to see and lives turn to Christ, is one of the goals of Marine Reach Global.
In addition to the work they are doing helping people to see, they are also providing dental care.
Did you know that in some rural parts of the Amazon, the nearest dentist is 3+ days away by boat? M/V Pacific Hope brings dentists within reach to all who need them. They are looking for dentists and dental assistants to serve with the while in Grand Bahama.

If you want to help make someone smile, or help them to see, you can get in touch and find out their latest news on their Facebook Page.
YWAM Medical Ships Australia PNG Dental Outreach
Now we get to hear about a father’s experience with the YWAM Medical Ships School Dental Program that is operating in Papua New Guinea.
Head on over to ywamships.org to find out more about the School Dental Program, and all the other ministries that they are involved in.
Jucum/Ywam San Salvador Dental Outreach
This month JUCUM / YWAM San Salvador had a dentistry day on their campus, serving families and individuals from different communities.

This initiative was possible because of a partnership with their brothers from Shalom Family Medical Center, who with love and excellence put their gifts at the service of those who needed it most.
They were deeply grateful to each doctor and Shalom Clinic for being a part of this effort and together bring health and hope to our communities.
Head on over to their Facebook Page to find out the latest with their ministry.
YWAM An Cuan – Rostrevor – Jesus, Justice, and Gaza
On Saturday, October 25 YWAM An Cuan – Rostrevor is hosting Jesus, Justice, and Gaza: A Palestinian Perspective with Anton Deik as their in-person guest speaker.
This one-day seminar (10:30am–3:30pm) will explore biblical themes of land and identity, and wrestle with questions of justice and hope in the midst of ongoing violence in Gaza. Through two lecture-style sessions, Anton will offer insight into “Promised Land and God’s Chosen People” (10:30–12:30) and “Hope in the Face of Genocide” (1:30–3:30). This event is free to attend with registration and space is limited. An Cuan Cafe will also be open selling lunch and baked goods from 12:30-1:30pm.

Anton is a Palestinian Christian from Bethlehem, Palestine. He is married to Sara Améstegui, a Bolivian, and they are the proud parents of Nour Sofia. Since he committed himself to Christ in 2010, Anton has ministered in different capacities in East Asia, England, Palestine, and Bolivia. He currently serves as the associate director for Bethlehem Institute for Peace and Justice and an assistant professor in Biblical Studies at Bethleham Bible College.

Anton was the Director of Online Education at Bethlehem Bible College and served with Operation Mobilization onboard MV Logos Hope. Previously, he had worked on large-scale computer science research projects with Birzeit University and the Palestinian government.

Can Celebration and Reverence Coexist in Worship? – YWAM Dunham
YWAM Dunham did an interview with John Shone about “Celebration”. I’ve listened to some of it, and wanted to share a clip of it with you.
The full podcast interview is embedded in the show notes at ywampodcast.com/161, and I reckon it’s well worth a listen.
40 Years of Niko
My first experience with YWAM was a Niko back in the Rocky Mountains in Alberta, Canada. NIKO comes from the Greek and it means, “to subdue, conquer, overcome, or get the victory.”
This year is their 40th year of operations, and they are celebrating!
As we talked about in episode 156 of the YWAM News Show, there have been various celebrations around the world to celebrate 40 years. In that episode I also shared a bit about my personal experience with Niko, and also someone else’s testimony about participating in Niko. It really is a great experience to learn in the classroom of life by “doing” instead of only listening. It will challenge you in your personal walk with God and others, through hands-on experiences.

On November 1 at 13:00 UTC Niko International is wanting to gather as many Niko staff as they can, from everywhere in the world, for a Zoom gathering. The details for how to connect can be found on their Facebook Post, and in the show notes for this episode of the YWAM News Show.
SBS Testimony – YWAM Dunham
Every year YWAM Dunham runs the Schrool of Biblical Studies, a 9-month program that studies all 66 books of the Bible using the inductive method of Bible study. Here is a testimony from one of their recent graduates …

YWAM Global Gateway – Hospitality
YWAM Global Gateway is a beautiful YWAM location in Oliver, BC, Canada. I’ve driven through and stayed in that area of Canada before, and it is one of my favourite areas of the world that I have ever been.
YWAM Global Gateway Canada is engaged in many areas of ministry, including running schools like the DTS and English for Missions, running missions focused conferences, doing Nikos, which we talked about earlier, engaging in local ministry, and much more…
One of the ministries that came across my feed this month was their Global Gateway Hospitality …

Here at YWAM Global Gateway, we believe that hospitality is about more than good mattresses and luxury bedsheets. We pride ourselves in making our guests feel seen, heard and loved. This means being present to shake hands, offer hugs and help with bags when you arrive, taking the time to listen to God for special words to encourage you with, sitting down with you over a home cooked meal or playing a game of cards around the kitchen table. It means being available to listen should you want to share what’s on your heart, inviting you into what God is doing through our ministry, and, when necessary, adjusting our schedule…because we value spending time with you and we believe that whatever God gives us to do is a ministry.

YWAM Heidebeek Titus Project
This January, Titus Project is coming to YWAM Heidebeek in The Netherlands! It is a 12-week outreach program to equip you as a Bible teacher.
Titus Project is a 12-week outreach program designed specifically for graduates of the School of Biblical Studies (SBS). If you’ve spent nine months immersing yourself in God’s Word through SBS, Titus Project is your opportunity to take what you’ve learned and pass it on to others—especially in places where access to Bible training is limited.
The course runs from 14 January – 3 April of 2026, and you can find out more on their web-site, ywamheidebeek.org.
YWAM Leaders Podcast
Juan and Mambo Galloway are based out of YWAM Kona and have over 30 years in ministry, missions, and NGO leadership. Using their experience they have launched a new podcast called “Leaders With A Mission”.
It’s available on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and YouTube, and if you are looking for more YWAM podcast content, you can follow the links in the shownotes at ywampodcast.com/161.
YWAM Sydney Snags
Every Thursday a team from YWAM Sydney is at Dee Why Beach to give away free food and connect with the community. They do this to be the light and salt in their community, and to engage in conversation and encourage people who may feel alone.
Of course, being in Australia, they are giving away Aussie sausages, which we call Snags. Now, there are right and wrong ways to do your snags, so we have Zack here to tell us how to do it properly …
Believe it or not there has been some controversy about how to prepare your snags that was caused by our largest hardware store, Bunnings, but all Aussies know the truth, and Zack does it right…
