Video News:

Worst flash floods in 30 years hit Timor Leste

Last month Timor Leste / East Timor suffered some of the worst floods that they have experienced in 30 years. The floods have killed more than 27 people, and have left hundreds homeless and without electricity and food.

The Kid’s Ark Ministry has suffered from substantial damage. The buildings were badly damaged by the flash floods with the walls, foundations, and ceilings all needing repairs. Until these repairs are complete the buildings are not habitable.

Kid’s Ark provides education, medical support, and provides programs for people with disabilities in the Hera area. The loss of these buildings will badly affect their onsite operations.

Australia Mercy is working with Kid’s Ark to help with the repairs, which are likely to exceed $90,000. You can find out more about it on the Australian Mercy web-site, australianmercy.org.

YWAM Slovakia House Fire

In April one of the staff houses with YWAM Slovakia was affected by a fire. The entire wooden building burned down, including many personal and ministry items. The fire also destroyed the car that was parked at the house at the time of the fire.

YWAM Slovakia is asking us to pray and consider supporting them in their rebuilding effort. Visit ywam.sk to find out how.

YWAM Worcester, South Africa Expansion

Youth With A Mission has been running in Worcester. South Africa for many year. God has lead them in many different directions and has recently renewed their desire to grow their campus …

You can head over to their web-site, ywamworcester.com, to find out more about their ministry, the campus expansion, and how you could partner with them.

The Need for Bible Translation

“There are approximately 7,100 living languages spoken on earth today. As I write this introduction there are some 1,600+ living languages that still do not have a single verse of the Scriptures translated. These 1,600+ languages need to be translated to reach zero.” David Hamilton, Youth With A Mission.

Over on the Frontier Missions web-site you can read many stories of how God is working in the nations through Youth With A Mission. One such story is about people who have no written language, and no Bible translation. There were a few believers in that group, and those believers did not have a way in their own language to speak about, and pray in their own mother tongue.

The strength and power of praying to God in your own language is something that many of us take for granted, but one that many do not know how to do. There are over 1600 languages with no Scripture, and it is very much on God’s heart to see Scripture in every language, and understood by every person. There are many ways that we can work to End Bible Poverty Now. You can read more about this story, and some of the ways that people are working to end Bible poverty over at ywamfm.org.

One of the many ways that YWAMers are working to help End Bible Poverty Now is the new Oral Bible Translation Container, which is part of the YWAM Ships Kona Ministry …

Generator Donated to YWAM Port Moresby

In the last episode of the podcast we shared with you about the new training facility being built outside of Port Moresby in Papua New Guinea. Last month a generator that once served Vision Christian Media’s Brisbane radio studios is now at that training campus.

The generator will be utilised not only to power the training campus, but eventually a Christian-based community radio station that will serve Port Moresby and beyond. The station will broadcast uplifting and positive content throughout the region, while providing students undertaking media-related courses with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience.

YWAM Ricife

Youth With A Mission has been operating in Recife, Brazil since 1986. They are currently involved in many ministries around the city, and in the area around it.

One of the ministries that they are involved with is their Christian Heritage School …

Since 2000, YWAM Recife has educated children and pre-adolescents from the local community through the Christian Heritage School, from Kindergarten to the fifth grade. In addition to education, they offer personal care, devotions, education, and recreation. The school is housed in a large building, inside their campus, and has a capacity for 300 students. Through this, they contribute to the educational, spiritual, social, cultural and economic development of the Santa Monica community.

Together with education and Biblical principles they work to shape the character of the students, in Christ. This works well as the students are still being molded; their minds and hearts are still like fertile ground. When principles of the Word of God are generated in the heart of a child, they will endure till the end of their life and, consequently, generations are transformed.

In addition the the Christian Heritage School YWAM Recife also operates the Sarah House Restoration Project.

Casa Sarah is their shelter for girls between the ages of 6 and 15 who are in situations of social vulnerability. They offer these children physical, spiritual, psychological, intellectual and social assistance in order to be reintegrated with their family and society. From the moment they arrive, YWAM Recife does everything possible to give them every opportunity to live a healthy, fruitful and influential life.

  • Donald Hauser, Sr.

My God-Son, Tony Castellanos Rojas, is a staff member for Youth With A Mission in Malaga, Spain. My wife and I help support Tony on a monthly basis. Tony was born and raised in the little village of San Juan Tecomatlan, Jalisco, Mexico. I met him in the little village when Tony was just five years old. I graduated from YWAM in Chapala, Jalisco, Mexico. I was instrumental in getting Tony into the Chapala branch before he knew the Lord as His savior. It was a struggle getting Tony in the Chapala branch of YWAM because the director would not accept him because was Catholic! The Director of Chapala finally accepted Tony as a student but it was NOT easy! After three weeks of YWAM accepted the Lord and became Student No. 1 of the graduating class!!! Today Tony is a top leader of the Malaga, Spain YWAM office and leads groups through Europe and the Middle East! Blessings, Donald Hauser, Sr.
