Stories:

Ending a Civil War with the Gospel

This is an amazing story about how God moved through YWAM to help in the midst of a civil war in Nigeria …

In the last 14 years more than 62,000 Christians have been killed, and over 5 millions displaced in Nigeria by Islamists. This Christmas over 160 have been killed in attacks on 20 Christian Communities in Central Nigeria on or around Christmas Day.

We have seen what God can do, and how he can affect the hearts of even the most hardened killers. We need to continue to pray that God would have His way in Nigeria, and that they would know the peace that we have through Christ as King.

YWAM Koha Returns on Christmas Eve

Last month we shared with you about the repairs that the MV YWAM Koha required in Lautoka, Fiji, and the amazing provision for those repairs.

The repairs required to the vessel was because of an issue with the drive shaft.

A report from YWAM Ships Managing Director, Marty Emmett stated that, “The drydock and repair work was successful. She returned back to the water on Friday, [December 15]. And then passed a sea trial on Saturday.”

The YWAM Koha departed Fiji on Monday the 18th, and arrived back at it’s home port, Vessels Works wharf in Tauranga on Sunday, December 24th.

During it’s time in Fiji the vessel was able to provide 1,213 people in Fiji with health services, and 3,891 with dental, optometry, or general medical care.

Mission Building Team in Vanuatu

Earlier this year Vanuatu was hit by a cyclone, that caused a lot of damage to the islands, and to the YWAM locations located there. A YWAM team recently visited the Island to help with the rebuilding process …

You can find out more about YWAM Pacific Waves on their web-site, ywampacificwaves.org, and follow along on their Facebook Page, where you can get their latest news, including news like how they are running their Island Impact Summer Camp in Vanuatu from January 8 – 18.

I did part of my Discipleship Training outreach in Vanuatu, where at the time there was no permanent YWAM location, so it’s always exciting for me to see YWAM’s ministry grow in Vanuatu.

YWAM Creation Care Forum

The YWAM Creation Care Online Forum is taking place again this January.

Last year was a great success last year with over 45 participants, and you are invite to join together Wednesday 24th and Thursday 25th January 2024, where you will have the chance to hear from people in YWAM across the globe who are interested in and practicing Creation Care.

Whether you’re learning what Creation Care is or are a practiced veteran, it is a great opportunity to learn, discuss and connect together.

YWAM had a team at COP 28 this month, and there should be reporting from that meeting during the forum, as well as a chance to discuss how God asks us to care for His creation.

You can find the link at ywampodcast.com/140 to the online registration for the forum, www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/ywam-creation-care-forum-2024-tickets-753752713657.

YWAM Ships Philippines Outreach

YWAM Ships Philippines recently completed an outreach in their area of the Pacific …

YWAM Meme Review

YWAM Oxford Memes – dropped the ball, nothing new this month!

YWAM Furnace Memes took it to the next level though. While I enjoyed being made into a meme myself, not just once, but twice.

There were two memes this month that stood out.

The first is something that I am sure everyone, except the most extroverted of us, has experienced on outreach.

My favourite though, and the one that really crushed it, was this one …

With the Holy spirit telling you that yes, you “should go live by faith as a missionary in the nations …”

In addition to providing the best YWAM Memes on the Internet, YWAM Furnace in New Zealand also runs an amazing ministry, which you can find out about on their web-site, ywamfurnace.nz.

Thank you for this new more informative format for the YWAM news. Some of us prefer to read the information rather than listen or watch video clips and this gives us that option – it is appreciated.
