Stories:

Clean Water for Maui

YWAM Ships Kona jumped into action immediately to help with relief after the fire hit Maui earlier this month. The yachts from YWAM Flotilla got busy transferring goods and relief to the island of Maui as the airports were blocked as people left the island.

After the initial response of sending relief via the yachts, YWAM Ships Kona was able to partner with Aloha Air Cargo to deliver more of the resources and donations to Maui.

Julie has fairly recent update about the work …

YWAM also has a location in Maui, but the location is on the side of the island not affected by the fires, so the location and all their staff and students are safe.

YWAM Windhoek Soccer Camp

Last episode of the YWAM News Show we shared about a soccer academy that was happing in Malawi. Another soccer camp is currently running at YWAM Windhoek in Namidia. They provided us with this update from their Facebook page.

“Our coaches welcomed us very warm upon arrival and it stirred up an excitement for the weekend away from our community. We didn’t really know what to expect from the camp apart from it will be a lot of training and exercises for the team.

We were well cared for even though it became tough along the way. I learnt some new things about my team members, this camp taught us how to love each other better. The coaches did their best to show us how to respect our teammates, build relationships that will help us get along on the field as well as off field. The theme was ‘Love Thy Neighbor’ and that’s what the coaches taught us through games and activities. We also went hiking early morning and just prayed together.

On the second day of camp, we had a friendly match against Beautiful Kidz soccer club and it was really fun, even though we lost. I learnt how to try from my mistakes and push for better results. It’s all about God, He loves us all and we should be able to love everyone equally. I am thankful for the experience and the opportunity over the weekend.” (Bruno, Right midfielder)

You can find out more about the camp on their Facebook Page.

YWAM Converge – Setting Up a Campus Missions Group

In many parts of the world the school year is beginning, with millions of students heading to college and university campuses to pursue higher education. These students, and the campuses that they are a part of, are a huge possible missions field.

YWAM Student Centre, also know as YWAM Converge, has a desire to reach out and connect with believers and non-believers at campuses around the world. They desire to make disciples in and through universities. One of the ways that they do this is through Missional Campus Groups.

Over at ywamconverge.org you can find some fantastic resources for setting up a Missional Campus Group, which starts with starting up a Missional Table, putting together a core team, and praying weekly for the school campus.

There is a free PDF copy of the Missional Table guide that you can download from their web-site. It includes an eight week plan for table fellowship discussions over a shared meal. The guide covers topics like God’s Call, God’s Character and Nature, Intercession, Being a Witness, God’s Sovereignty, Crossing Cultures, and more.

Find out more on the YWAM Student Centre web-site, ywamconverge.org.

Kings Kids Slovakia Macedonia Outreach

Kings Kids Slovakia spent some time on outreach in Macedonia. We get this update from their Facebook page.

On our King’s Kids outreach to Macedonia we could be a blessing to kids, churches, families, villages and many random people on the streets of Bitola and Strumica.

Our team of 22 (youngest one 3yrs old) could show the love of Christ through dancing, skits, street evangelism, collecting garbage, praying over people and much more.

So proud of these amazing young people who gave their vacation time and sacrificed financially in order to go!

Just one short story – on the first day we had an idea of learning a simple Bible verse in Macedonian, just to be able to share with some people. After concluding that John 3:16 was a bit too complicated, we settled for John 14:6 – Jesus is the Way, Truth and Life.

What a surprise that on that same day, we met a person on the street that this verse had a great significance for, a few days later we served at a church where this verse was printed as the main quote over the entrance, we prayed this verse out while ministering… God really speaks.

Visit the KKI Slovakia Facebook Page to see more about their ministry.
